HAN is the electroacoustic duo of musicians annie aries and & paula haeni. their collaborative practice opens a field between noise, drone, and electroacoustic improvisation. from an analog, electrical setup they shape sonic layers that are at once fragile and monumental, unfolding as textures, currents, and ruptures. their music searches for moments of emergence and dissolution, a probing movement in which noise, resonance, and tone merge. HAN invites listeners to enter these transitory spaces, where listening becomes a physical, multi-layered experience.
the album KOEL moves between suspended passages and extended, disembodied soundscapes - vast as a sky without horizon - and abrupt plunges into powerful, mechanical electronic grooves, threaded with rough, organic textures. deep vibrations surge upward like sea creatures rising from the depths: formless, shifting masses, rhythmic, abrasive tentacles. the music of HAN (Annie Aries & Paula Haeni) is shaped by opposing forces: expansion and compression, lightness and pull, surrender and tension. in this first release by the duo, listening becomes a physical, almost animal experience. the audience is drawn into a field of tension composed of raw energies and multilayered textures, of hypnotic states of suspension and diffuse, elusive perceptual spaces.
